Pokémon Go is an augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in 2016. Niantic developed the game in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for Android and iOS devices. The game utilizes mobile devices with GPS to locate, capture, train, and battle virtual Pokémon as if they appear in the player’s real-world location.
Lure Modules are a feature available in Pokémon Go. These are items that attract Pokémon to a PokéStop for 30 minutes. Lure Modules are like a stationery fragrance that attracts Pokémon for all players within a specific range. Lure modules are of two types: standard Lure Modules and special Lure Modules. Standard Lure Module attracts a variety of Pokémon and increases the spawn rate in the short radius around the PokéStop, and special Lure Modules attract specific types of Pokémon. In this article, we will discuss all the Lure Modules in Pokémon Go.
What are Lure Modules in Pokémon Go?
A Lure Module is an in-game item available in Pokémon Go. Players can use this item on any PokéStop to attract more wild Pokémon near it. The idea of the Lure Module is similar to a fragrance. In Pokémon Go, this incense is used to attract a variety of Pokémon into a specific geographical range. A Lure Module can be activated on a specific PokéStop by clicking on the small pink Lure button available at the large blue circle of any PokéStop screen, and these Lure Modules generally last for 30 minutes by default.
There are two types of Lure modules available in Pokémon Go: Standard Lure Module and Special Lure Module. Standard Lure Modules attract a variety of wild Pokémon to the PokéStop for 30 minutes. These items can increase the spawn rate and create a shared effect by benefiting all the trainers within the range of a specific PokéStop. A special Lure Module attracts more wild animals for 30 minutes, and it lures specific types of Pokémon. Some special Lure Modules enable the Pokémon to evolve into a unique form within the range.
Pokémon Go has six different Lure Modules that can be used at PokéStops. One standard Lure Module and five Special Lure Modules are available in the game at the moment. Glacial Lure Module, Mossy Lure Module, Magnetic Lure Module, Rainy Lure Module, and Golden Lure Module are the five Lure Modules that fall under the Special Lure Module category.
