What is Hogwarts Secrets?
In Hogwarts Legacy, ‘Hogwarts Secrets’ is a series of three hidden challenges spread throughout the castle in the game. The challenges in Hogwarts Secrets include solving puzzles and exploring the hidden rooms in the castle. Solving or taking on these challenges will reward the players with unique in-game items and unlock a new set of challenges that are way bigger than Hogwarts Secrets and reward you more.
The three challenges in the Hogwarts Secrets are the Viaduct Bridge Puzzle, the Clock Tower Pendulum Secret Puzzle, and the Key of Admittance Secret Puzzle. Completing all three puzzles will unlock the “Solve Hogwarts Secrets” and reveal a bigger quest line with bigger rewards within the game.
1. Viaduct Bridge Puzzle and How to Solve It?
The Viaduct Bridge Puzzle is one of the most precious and generous loots in the game. To solve this challenge, what you have to do is light the braziers and adjust their Roman numeral settings according to a hidden symbol pattern that can be seen on the bridge. To solve the puzzle, you need to take the first step and find the circular emblem with some symbols and Roman numerals. Here are the steps you need to follow to solve this puzzle.
Step 1: Find the Puzzle
Locating the Viaduct Bridge puzzle is the very first step; you can find the puzzle on the bridge situated near the Central Hall and the Clock Tower.
Step 2: Search and Find the Emblem
On the ground, you can find a circular emblem. Usually, the emblem can be found near the centre of the bridge. To identify that particular emblem, you can look for the Roman numerals. The emblem displays four symbols corresponding to Roman numerals (I, II, III, and IV).
Step 3: Light up the Braziers
You need to light the braziers to proceed with the puzzle and to light them, you need to interact with Professor Hecat and learn the Incendio spell from him.
Step 4: Match the Symbols
Locate the four braziers on the bridge’s railing, each with a symbol. Adjust the Roman number settings until they match the corresponding symbol on the ground. Stand at the side of the viaduct which is close to the library and follow the instructions given below to match the symbol correctly.

- Furthest-Left: One
- Closest Right: Two
- Furthest Right: Three
Once you successfully match the symbols, the circular emblem on the ground will open, and a ladder will be revealed. Use this ladder to collect your rewards. The possible rewards in this challenge include a wand handle, a legendary chest, and a conjuration recipe.
2. The Clock Tower Pendulum Secret Puzzle: How to Solve it?
It is the second secret puzzle in the game that uses the Arresto Momentum spell. To solve this puzzle, you need to freeze the pendulum over some specific symbols. Locate the pendulum’s position above the corresponding symbol, cast the spell, and the door that leads to rewards will open. Here is the step-by-step procedure.
Step 1: Locate the Pendulum
You can find the clock tower in the South Wing. The clock tower is at the Crossed Wand Dueling Club, and it can be unlocked after completing Gladwin Moon’s quest.
Step 2: Identify the Symbols
Observe the four symbols on the floor and the pendulum. Try to find out the four matching symbols on the doors and the tower.
Step 3: Cast the Spell
Make sure that you are positioned in a place to cast the spell when the pendulum is directly over the symbol on the door you wish to open and grab rewards.
Step 4: Repeat the Process
There will be four doors to be opened, so you need to repeat the third step three more times to open all four doors.
Here are the four symbols that belong to the four locked doors
- Unicorn Symbol: First-floor door.
- Owl Symbol: Second-floor door.
- Two Dragons Symbol: Third-floor door.
- Scarab Symbol: Fourth-floor door

3. The Key of Admittance Secret Puzzle: How to Solve it?
In The Key of Admittance Secret Puzzle, you need to unlock one of the three secret areas available in the game. You can find one area just across from the headmaster’s office entrance. You need to interact with the door by using the corresponding item. Interacting with the door by using the wrong item will keep the door shut.
Step 1: Learn the Alohomora spell and upgrade
To initiate this challenge, you need to learn and upgrade the Alohomora spell to the third level by collecting Demiguise Statues available around the place.
Step 2: Execute Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial
It is a main quest that provides you access to the headmaster’s office. Complete this quest and get access to his office.
Step 3: Find the Key
The key to the admittance can be found in the room above the Headmaster’s office. Find out the key to proceed to the next step.
Step 4: Unlock the Secret Door
You can use the Key of Admittance to unlock the large door at the end of the hallway opposite the Headmaster’s office.
